Intermediate Maintenance / Service

It is important to note that we perform and charge for only necessary items. For example, if your vehicle maintenance calls for a new air filter but they one you have looks great, we will let you know, and not charge your for it if we do not replace it. This is just one more difference between A+ Japanese Auto Repair and dealerships.

Your vehicle may require some, all or an addition to the following items:

  • Drain and replace engine oil
  • Replace engine oil filter
  • Inspect and replenish all under hood fluids
  • Lubricate door, hood, truck and/or hatch hinges, latches and/or zerk fittings
  • Rotate tires
  • Reset tire pressure to manufacturers specification
  • Record tire thread depth
  • Inspect and record front and rear brake lining
  • Replace air filter
  • Inspect shock absorbers or strut assembly suspension and steering components
  • Inspect constant velocity shafts and protective boots
  • Inspect for engine and transmission / transaxle for any external fluid leakage
  • Inspect brake and clutch hydraulic system for any external fluid leakage
  • Inspect exhaust system for any leakage, wear, deterioration and damage
  • Inspect external drive belts for adjustment, wear, deterioration and damage
  • Inspect hoses for any leakage, wear, deterioration and damage
  • Inspect operation and wear of windshield wipers and washer
  • Inspect operation of exterior and interior lights
  • Inspect operation of heater, front window defroster and air conditioning system
  • Inspect operation, wear and damage of seat belts and retractors
  • Adjust clutch free play on vehicles equipped with cable cluth linkage
  • Adjust external drive belt tension to manufacturer's specification
  • Clean corrosion on battery terminals and apply protective sealant
  • Load test battery, starting system and charging system output
  • Adjust engine timing on vehicles equipped with electronic fuel injection base idle to manufacturer specification
  • Drain and fill transmission / transaxle fluid
  • Replace drain / fill washers
  • Flush and bleed hydraulic brake fluid
  • Replace spark plugs
  • Pressure test radiator cap and coolant system and inspect for leakage
  • Reset service reminder maintenance indicator
  • Apply next service reminder sticker to windshield
  • Road test vehicle to determine correct operation of vehicle

Engine Oil & Filter Service

Our Engine Oil & Filter Service includes the following:

  • Replacement of engine oil with premium oil
  • Replacement of filter with new filter
  • Topping off of under hood fluids
