Say goodbye to no-start mornings.
Most 12V car batteries last three to five years, and they rarely give much warning before they quit. A quick test tells you how much life is left so you can replace it on your schedule, not on the side of the road.
Our battery service includes a load test, a check of the cables and terminals for corrosion and a test of the charging system. If your battery keeps dying, the problem may be the alternator or a parasitic drain, and we will find it instead of just selling you another battery.
When it is time to replace it, we install the correct size and type and register it with the car's computer where the manufacturer requires it.
Yes, even your electric car needs a 12V battery.
Every hybrid and electric car still has a 12V battery that powers the computers, locks and lights. If it fails, the car will not turn on, even with a full high-voltage battery. These batteries are often a special AGM type and sometimes sit in the trunk or under a seat.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a car battery last?
Most 12V batteries last three to five years. Heat, short trips and cars that sit unused shorten that. We can test yours in minutes to see how much life is left.
Why does my battery keep dying?
A battery that keeps going dead may be worn out, but the cause can also be a weak alternator, a corroded cable or something drawing power when the car is off. We test all three before recommending a new battery.
Do hybrids and EVs have a 12V car battery?
Yes. Every hybrid and EV has a 12V battery that powers the computers and lets the car start up. If it fails, the car will not turn on, even with a fully charged high-voltage battery.

This is my first time going to A+ Japanese Auto Repair and I plan to return for other car repair/maintenance services. I appreciate the total transparency and honesty. The complementary ride to and from the shop is extremely helpful. As a bonus they have loyal rewards program and all work is backed by a warranty which they explain what it is. The staff is friendly and answer questions that you have.

Took my 19 year old Tacoma to A+ Japanese Auto based on the reviews. I knew it needed a 150K service, and they suggested an inspection along with an oil change so they could determine what services were needed. The front office staff was exceptional from the time I made my appointment, arrived to the shop, and discussed the recommended repairs. The technicians took detailed photos shown me by my service provider. She explained all of the details regarding the repairs necessay and helped categorize the repairs based on safety. I was very impressed with this level of service, and highly recommend this business.
