How do I know if it's my battery or my alternator?
If the car will not start but runs fine after a jump, the battery is the likely cause. If it dies while driving or the lights dim as you drive, suspect the alternator. We test both to be sure.
What is a parasitic drain?
It is something that keeps drawing power after the car is off, like a stuck relay, a glovebox light or an aftermarket accessory. It slowly drains the battery overnight. We track it down circuit by circuit.
Why are electrical problems hard to find?
Many are intermittent and depend on heat, moisture or vibration. The more you can tell us about when it happens, the faster we can reproduce it and find the cause.

The founder of A+ came to the United States from Turkey and started out as a bicycle mechanic, then spent years as a head technician at a dealership. In 1997, in his mid-40s, he opened A+ Japanese Auto Repair in San Carlos. It was a family affair from the first day.
