Do electric vehicles need maintenance?

EVs don’t need oil changes, spark plugs or transmission service, but they still need tire rotations, brake inspections, cabin air filters, coolant service for the battery and electronics, and regular suspension checks. Why do EV tires wear out faster?
EVs are heavier than gas cars because of their battery, and their instant torque puts extra force on the tires. Many EV owners need new tires sooner than they expect. Regular rotations and alignments, plus EV-rated tires, help them last longer and keep your range up.
How do I know if my EV battery is degrading?
The most common sign is reduced range on a full charge. Some range loss over time is normal, but a sudden drop, slower charging or battery warning messages are worth checking. A battery health check shows where your battery stands and whether it’s covered under warranty.

Took my 19 year old Tacoma to A+ Japanese Auto based on the reviews. The founder of A+ came to the United States from Turkey and started out as a bicycle mechanic, then spent years as a head technician at a dealership. In 1997, in his mid-40s, he opened A+ Japanese Auto Repair in San Carlos. It was a family affair from the first day.
